Sailing into November!

This week we took class to sea by making model sailboats using Citiblocs!

This marine engineering project dove into the concept of buoyancy, as well as the history of sailing and sailing terminology.

This project included:

  • Exploring buoyancy by constructing a tinfoil boat on water, and seeing how many pennies it can hold while staying afloat
  • Discussing sailing history and terminology such as mast, rigging, and hull
  • Modeling our very own sailboats using Citiblocs

Family Activity:

Have sailboats on the brain?

Click here to watch a kid friendly sailboat video together! Or share a few nautical jokes!

Why do seagulls fly over the sea? Because if they flew over the bay, they'd be bagels!

What did Cinderella wear when she went swimming in the ocean? Glass flippers.

What's a pirate's favorite letter? You may think it's the RRRRR, but it's the C that they're in love with! Aye.

Thank you for building with us!
